Shore Trust (formerly known as Shore Family Trust for the Disabled) was established in 1992 by a group of families who wanted their family member  to have the opportunity to live in a home in the community on the North Shore. A strong emphasis on community involvement has always been forefront as well as maintaining a warm and welcoming home. Today, two of the original people remain living in their home.

A major building project was carried out in 1999. A funding grant from the ASB Community Trust enabled extensive renovations over a number of years resulting in a modern and comfortable home.

The Shore Family Trust for the Disabled was incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 on 17 September 1992 and then registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005 with the Charities Commission on 15 May 2008.

  • Belmont Terrace - This home supports the needs of 6 people within the local community environment.
  • Naviti Place-  We are delighted that our second home opened mid September 2016.  This new home will provide support to 3 new people at this location.

It is widely acknowledged by our funders and those who monitor our services that we do an outstanding job at Belmont Terrace.  Expanding our existing services means that we will be able to offer support to new people and make us less vulnerable to future changes in government policy.
